Teen Program

Pregnancy, birth and post-partum care are important health challenges for any woman, but for teenage girls, the stakes are even higher. Teen mothers and their babies are especially vulnerable to risks and complications. The Lifestages Teen Program creates a private and respectful setting for pregnant girls. The program offers medical care as well as health education and life skills training – all in the context of compassionate support.

ME Is All About You! Mothers Empowered
The Lifestages Mothers Empowered program is based on the Centering Pregnancy ©model -- a group approach to pre-natal care. You will be in a group with other women whose due dates are close to yours. You’ll meet every month at first. As the birth of your baby approaches, you’ll meet every two weeks.

Teen Pregnancy
Pregnant teens are encouraged to build a strong, trusting relationship with Lifestages certified nurse midwives and physicians. A Healthy Moms and Babies Program coordinator works one on one with each teen mother-to-be to help her understand the positive and negative impact of her decisions on herself and her baby. A Lifestages staff member guides each young woman through the health care reimbursement system and, through partnerships with community agencies, assists her in establishing goals and developing a life plan.
