Excellence in obstetric care is the hallmark of Lifestages — Samaritan Centers For Women. Our medical team is committed to a patient-centered approach to the birthing experience from pregnancy through delivery and post-natal care. Our comprehensive approach includes obstetric care with either a physician or a certified nurse midwife. Lifestages is one of the few physician groups in the Dayton area to employ certified nurse midwives. Our highly trained and experienced midwives were among the first in the area to champion personal birthing plans that match the needs and expectations of mothers-to-be. A Lifestages midwife is on call and at Good Samaritan Hospital 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
A Lifestages physician is also on call and available on hospital premises, 24-hours a day, seven days a week, should any complication arise that requires advanced medical care. The Family Birthing Center at Good Samaritan Hospital offers a home-like birthing experience with many options, including Jacuzzi® tubs for water births. After delivery, mother and newborn share the same room until it’s time to go home unless the mother asks for her baby to spend time in the nursery.
Lifestages has taken the extra step of undergoing a rigorous evaluation process to achieve accreditation from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. It is rare for a private practice to be AIUM-accredited, but that's the level of excellence our patients expect and what we are committed to delivering.
